Over the last few years, I’ve been incorporating more seasonal produce into my diet. Eating seasonally not only tastes better, but the produce is fresher, oftentimes cheaper, and supports local farmers (if you shop at farmers markets.) One blocker I ran into was not knowing which items are in season off the top of my head. I’d look up items individually when I shopped, which was time-consuming. So I decided to come up with this seasonal fruits and vegetables list on the blog to reference back anytime I’m grocery shopping. Hopefully it’s as helpful for you as it has been for me!
In Season Fruits and Vegetables List
I’ll break this fruits and vegetables list down into the 4 seasons:
^ Click each season above to jump to that list.
Each season category will be sectioned off into fruits and veggies. The vegetable category will be broken down further into leafy greens, root vegetables, cruciferous vegetables, etc.
There are more types of vegetables than this, but the list was getting a bit overwhelming when fully broken down. So just 3 categories + the others in “etc.” was easier to look through.
By the way, some of the produce I put in the vegetables category (ex: squash and peppers) are technically considered fruits. But I added them to the veggies category, since that’s how most people cook with them. I’ve added an asterisk* to these items to make it clear.
Some are also classified as legumes (ex: peas and beans) but leaving them in the vegetable category keeps everything streamlined.
All that being said, let’s get into the fruits and vegetables list!

Local fruits and vegetables list
Which fruits and veggies are in season will also vary depending on what region you live in. For example, here in Florida, I can use this guide from the Florida Department of Agriculture to see if there are any differences from this general list. I’d recommend Googling your state/country’s seasonal produce guide to get the full picture.
I hope this seasonal fruits and vegetables list was helpful in your grocery shopping! Having the freshest, in season produce makes a world of difference when it comes to cooking.
Let me know your favorite fruit or veggie in the comments.
