It’s time for another monthly recap! This month was so much fun and full of friends, family, and getting stuff done. It’s a short month but a lot was jam-packed into it.
February
We started off February back home in Illinois to visit family.
We went back to meet my nephew Maverick who was just born in January. He’s the sweetest little baby!
We explored downtown with the family on Saturday and ended up at Ad Astra for wine and Bloom for cocktails. Both bars had a cool atmosphere! My hometown is stepping up its game for nightlife and places to go downtown.
My parents’ sweet angel puppers, Sunna.
On Sunday evening, we went to dinner and for a wine tasting with both of our families at Coopers Hawk.
The next day, we flew back to Tampa and had a chill day at home. Then, it was back to work for us.
We had a fun Super Bowl weekend! I was mainly just excited for Usher and Taylor Swift sightings. 😉 But it actually ended up being a really good game!
We bought a giant cookie cake from Target and made sliders and buffalo chicken dip.
That same weekend, we tried out a new wine bar near us called Sommelier Hideaway. The wine was amazing and the tasting attendant was so knowledgeable!
A few meals/snacks from this month…
Copycat Chipotle chicken burrito bowls. These took forever to make because everything was made from scratch, but let me tell you it was SO worth it. I ate this on repeat for lunch/dinner for days, it was phenomenal.
I was on a lox bagel kick for breakfast.
My weekly pumpkin or banana bread loaf. 😉 I posted the recipe for my chocolate chip pumpkin bread here!
Monthly Reads
For Book of the Month, I chose Heartless Hunter as my monthly book. I haven’t read fantasy in a long time but have been wanting to get back into it. This book is about witches which is always up my alley.
I’m about 75% done with it and LOVE it so far! I’m so sad that this is the first book in the series though, so I’ll have to wait for more books for a while… I don’t have patience for this kind of thing tbh.
I also chose Wellness as an add-on. I’d passed this one up a few months back and regretted it, so I figured I’d read it this month instead and hope it’s worth it!
My Fitness Routine
I’ve been doing a combination of the Natacha Oceane Hybrid program (the running portion) and EvolveYou strength workouts.
I love the Hybrid program so far. It has a bunch of different options for where you’re at in your running journey. I’m doing the beginner program, so I’m just doing 2 slow runs per week. After I complete the 12-week beginner running program, I want to start the 5K program, to run a 5K in the fall.
That being said, I prefer EvolveYou strength workouts. The setup of the app is a lot more streamlined in my opinion and makes it easier to track your progress and enjoy the workouts.
So my fitness routine for February has included 2 runs per week and 2 strength workouts (one lower and one upper body).
That’s all folks!
My parents are visiting at the end of February through early March as well, but I’m going to write a separate post for that. 🙂
