Ever since I tried the Starbucks iced lavender matcha, I knew I had to recreate my own at home. To give a little backstory, I worked at Starbucks for 8 years, so I know a thing or two about how the drinks are made. Every time they release a new drink I love, I immediately start experimenting to create my own version at home. So if you’re looking for a delicious and refreshing lavender matcha recipe, you’re in the right place.

I’m normally a coffee girly, but I’ve been trying to add more matcha into my life to ease the excess caffeine jitters/anxiety. As my coffee lovers know, it’s way too easy to have a mug of coffee in hand all day, every day. Sometimes, you need to slow down a bit and drink some tea or matcha instead.
I’ve been experimenting with different matcha powders, sweeteners, milk-to-matcha ratio, mixing methods, and more — to find the perfect matcha recipe.
To be honest, the lavender really adds something special to a traditional iced matcha. It’s perfectly sweet with just the right amount of floral flavor to spice things up.
Since I perfected this lavender matcha recipe, I’ve been drinking it every afternoon in place of a final cup of coffee. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever go back. It’s that good!
Lavender Matcha Grocery List
For this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- almond milk (or whatever milk you prefer in your lattes)
- matcha powder (Navitas Organic Matcha is my favorite, after testing out quite a few)
- vanilla extract
- lavender syrup (I love Wabry Organic Lavender Syrup)
- Optional:
- whole milk (this creates the best cold foam as opposed to using the almond milk or another non-dairy milk option)
- purple food coloring (if you want the cold foam to be purple tinted) (*you can also use these alternatives if you want a more natural option!)
Equipment you’ll need:
- milk frother (make sure you have one with a cold foam setting)
- protein shaker (if you don’t have one, you can whisk the matcha ingredients together by hand — but a protein shaker is much more efficient)
4 Steps:
Iced Lavender Matcha Latte
Ingredients
Matcha Latte
- 10 fl oz almond milk or milk of your choice
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp lavender syrup experiment with less or more, depending how sweet you prefer
- ice
Cold Foam
- 2 fl oz milk I used whole milk since it froths well
- ½ tbsp lavender syrup
- Optional: purple food coloring *see above for more natural options
Instructions
- Add all matcha latte ingredients (besides ice) to a protein shaker. Shake until well combined (when no matcha clumps remain.)
- Add ice to a glass and pour matcha latte over it. (Leave about an inch of room at the top for lavender cold foam!)
- In a milk frother, select the cold foam setting, and froth together the whole milk and lavender syrup.
- Slowly pour cold foam over the top of the matcha in a circular motion, so it sits on top of the ice and liquid.
That’s all folks!
I hope you enjoy this lavender matcha latte as much as I have!
